The nickname “M Streets” comes from its iconic street names—Monticello, McCommas, Merrimac, Morningside, and others—all beginning with the letter “M.”
Established in the 1920s, Greenland Hills is known for its classic Tudor architecture and is protected by the M Streets Conservation District, formed in 2003 to preserve the neighborhood’s historic character. Vickery Place is also protected under its own conservation district. Today, The M Streets features an average home size of approximately 2,146 square feet, with many original homes thoughtfully renovated according to conservation guidelines. With around 8,618 residents and roughly 96% owner occupancy, The M Streets offers a vibrant, walkable community in the heart of East Dallas.
